Jack Gregory is Notable.

Jack Gregory was born in 1895 at St Leonards in the Colony of New South Wales, in what was soon to become Australia. [1] He is the son of Charlie Gregory and Jessie Morrison.

He passed away in 1973. [2]

Jack Morrison Gregory was an Australian cricketer who as well as playing in 129 first class matches for New South Wales; also played in 24 Tests between 1920 and 1928 for his country. He was voted Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1922. His two uncles' Dave and Ned played in the first official Test Match ever in 1877 between Australia and England in Melbourne. And his cousin Syd Gregory was Australian Test Cricket Captain in 1912.

In World War I Jack Gregory served as a Bombardier in the Field Artillery Brigade 7, Battery 27. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A8 Argyllshire on 11 May 1916.
Jack Gregory is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Like the cream of Australia's cricketers serving in the A.I.F. in World War I he played in the AIF Eleven in England and later South Africa on their way back to Australia in 1919. The hugely successful AIF Eleven tour culminated in a three match series in Australia against New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland Sheffield sides. The results in Australia demonstrated the strength of the AIF team and within a few months of the team's dissolution, five players would make their Test débuts: batsmen Herbie Collins, Johnny Taylor and Nip Pellew; wicketkeeper Bert Oldfield and fast bowling all-rounder Gregory.[3]

Jack Gregory married Phyllis Ethel von Alwyn, the Miss Australia for 1927 at Launceston in Tasmania, on 26 June 1928. [4]

Jack Gregory passed away at Bega in southern New South Wales on the 7th of August 1973 and he was cremated with Anglican rites. His remains were interred at the Norwood Park Crematorium, in Mitchell in the Australian Capital Territory. And he was survived by only a son and daughter as his wife had predeceased him.
