Charles was born on 8 Mar 1887. He was the son of John Greet. Charles was baptised at Veryan, Cornwall on 24 Aug 1888. ^[1]

Charles Greet is a Military Veteran.
Served in the Royal Navy 8 March 1905-10 March 1927 attaining CPO

At the age of 12 he joined the Royal Navy. At the time he signed up he was 5' 4" with brown eyes and hair and a fresh complexion. It was noted he had a scar on his right arm. His first ship was the Northampton. He served on a number of different vessels until he was discharged in March 1927. ^[2] After he retired from the Navy he joined the Coast Guard.

Charles's marriage to Nellie E Reeves was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1923 in the Totnes district.^[3]Their marriage took place on 9 June 1923 in Ugborough, Devon, England.^[4] Ugborough is 16.5 miles from the site of HMS Vivid I where Charles was posted at the time of their marriage.

Charles served in HM Coastguard (Britain) from 1927.

Charles's death (age 66) was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1954 in the Totnes district.^[5] At the time of his death on 11 Aug he was residing at High House near Monksmoor Bridge, Ugborough, Devonshire. Administration of his will was granted to his widow Nellie Elizabeth Greet. ^[6]
