So my Dad was raised by his grandfather, Lemuel from age 3 til Grampa Lemuel died when Dad was just 10 years old.
They then moved to Los Angeles, California where her 3 sons were living.
1941-- Gramma Lula and Bob Parks lived in Torrance, L.A California, I remember their Pekinese dogs and parakeets. And front steps of the house were painted red. I am not sure when Bob died but there are pictures of him with us in about 1944.. just found a picture that has my cousin, Marsha Self born 1943 in it with my Mom/brother Herschel and "Grandma Parks and Step-Grandpa Parks" so he was alive at least until 1944.
Gramma was a "Practical Nurse" in Desert Hot Springs, She moved there after her husband Bob Parks passed. She drove a fire engine red Pontiac. We visited her there in the summer when it was hotter than ....
