He was christened on 6 May 1832 at Wyke-Regis, Wyke-Regis, Dorset, England[1]. His father was a mariner.
His mother died some time before 1841 (when his father remarried).
Tragically Daniel died about 24 January 1856 at sea. He was about 24 years of age, and probably unmarried:

Jan 24. Washed overboard from the schooner Guide, on her voyage from Luguna, off Cape Clear, Daniel Joseph Wallis Green, eldest son of Captain Daniel Green, of the screw steam-transport Bahiana.[2]
