23 Mar 1774 is a calculated birthdate from her headstone – death date 26 Apr 1850 aged 76 years, 1 month 3 days.
Stocking Ancestry gives 23 Dec 1776 as birthdate.[1]
The 1850 mortality census says she was 73 years old in April of 1850, yielding a birth year of 1777.[2]
Patience’s parents marriage record was noted in Pelham, Hampshire, MA, and some of her siblings were married there. There were no Gray family births recorded for Isaac and Mary’s family, but the assumption is that the children were also born there.[3]
Family
With her husband Billius, she lived in St. Lawrence co, NY. She is noted on deeds with Billius.[4]
It's not clear where Patience and Billius met and married. Family time lines would suggest that their paths crossed in or near Hebron, Washington co. NY between 1790 and 1800, but that is only inference from other family records. In 1820 Isaac Gray, Patience's brother, was living adjacent to the Stocking household
