Biography
John was born in 1869 in Pittsylvania Co., Va. He was the son of William Robert Gray and Louisa Brooks.[1]
In 1892, he married Lucy Pink Goodson.[2]Their children were Robert Lester and Vesta Lee "Bessie" (twins), James L., Henry Jackson, John Haywood., Mary Lou, Thomas W., Anna Catherine, Eula May, Charles Claude, Leslie F., Jesse, Ruby Estelle, Faith Mabel, and Myrtle Hope -- all born between about 1893 and 1914 in Pittsylvania Co., Va.[3]
The couple farmed in Pittsylvania Co. until sometime before 1950 when they were living with their widowed daughter Mary.[4][5] John died in 1956[6][7] and Lucy in 1964.[8]
