Emily Gray was born 16 April 1834 at Monroe, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA, died 14 Dec 1912 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA, daughter of Elisha Gray (1800–1850) and Sally B. (Scott) Gray (1802–1874); married 9 March 1857 to Samuel Beers, born 3 June 1833 at Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States, died 13 January 1913 at Cook County, Illinois, USA,[1] son of Simeon Nichols Beers (1801-1851) and Ann Eliza (McEwen) Beers (1811-1868); buried at Rosehill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.[2]
Emily (Gray) Beers and Samuel Beers moved their family from Newtown, Connecticut to Chicago, Illinois in the Fall of 1847, joining Samuel's brother Cyrenius Bees, who had moved there in the mid-1830's.
