Biography

Ernest was born in 1927. He was the son of Ernest Grantham and Vicey Merritt.

US Census Event Date 1940: Living with his mother and stepfather Runion Penland in Militia District 748, Coffee, Georgia, United States. Aged 12.

Ernest married and was an Airman in the Air Force. He served as a Sergeant with The Air Police during World War II.

He. was injured on 20 December 1952 when a rifle accidentally discharged at Lockbourne Airforce Base in Franklin, Ohio. He died 6 days later on 26 December 1952 at the age of 25. Cause of death: Acute Peritonitis/Accidental Gunshot wound to the abdomen/Acute Cystitis etc^[1]
