Biography

Robert was born in 1874, in Horton in Craven, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Graham and Sarah Smith.

In the 1881 census Robert (age 6), Scholar, was the son of Thomas Graham at 10 Shuttleworth Street, Padiham, Lancashire, England.^[1]

In the 1891 census Robert (age 16) was the son of Thomas Graham in Padiham, Padiham, Lancashire, England.^[2]

Robert was in a British Army World War I Service Military record. His service number was 9395, in the Lancashire Fusiliers. ^[3]

He married Elizabeth Ann Ireland on 20 Sep 1897 in Padiham, Lancashire, England. Robert was 22 and Elizabeth was 21 when they married. Her father John Ireland's occupation was recorded as a weaver, whilst Robert's father, Thomas Graham was recorded as an agent (insurance).

In the 1901 census Robert (age 26) was the head of household in Padiham, Lancashire, England. Robert and Elizabeth were cotton weavers. ^[4]

In the 1911 census Robert (age 36), Window Cleaner, was the married head of household at 21 Thompson Street Padiham Lancs, Padiham, Lancashire, England.^[5]

On 30 Nov 1911, Robert left London, England aboard SS "Kaipara" for Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia. His wife Elizabeth and their children would leave a year after Robert on 24 Dec 1912, aboard SS "Ajana". ^[6]

Robert arrived on 12 January 1912 in Fremantle, Western Australia, after having spent 43 days at sea, aboard the SS "Kaipara". ^[7]

In 1916, Robert and Elizabeth were registered to vote in East Fremantle, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia. They were residing in Zenobia Street, Palmyra, and Robert's occupation was labourer. ^[8]

He passed away on 1 November 1932 in Fremantle Hospital, and was buried in Fremantle Cemetery, Palmyra, Melville City, Western Australia, Australia. ^{[9] [10]}
