Military Service He served in the military in War of 1812.
James was born in 1766. He passed away in 1847.
Although the tombstone installed by the grandchildren gives a death year of 1847, James Graham actually died in 1845 per Boone County IN will records. The will was written 10 Nov. 1845. The designated executor, Wm. Abney, relinquished that appointment as "named in the late will and Testament of James Graham Sr. ....., Deceased....," on 1 Dec. 1845. Peter Dinsmore was later named administrator and the will was recorded on 24 January 1846. So, James Graham Sr. died between 10 Nov. and 1 Dec. 1845. The name of James' wife when the will was written was 'Luvina Graham'. A son Lewis was also named.
