Emigrated to America in 1719 from Ulster, Northern Ireland where his family had settled after emigrating from Argyleshire, Scotland. Settled in Boston originally. In 1741 he moved to Hillsborough, New Hampshire as one of the pioneer settlers where he remained until he was driven off by Indians in 1746. At that time I believe he made his way back to Boston, specifically Noodle's Island[1], where his son, Francis Jr., was born in 1747.
