Biography

Edward was born in 1862, son of William Goulding by his second wife Maria Heath Manders.

Edward entered St Johns College, Cambridge in 1882.[1]

Edward served as a Member of Parliament from 1895. He was created a Baronet (of Wargrave Hall in the County of Berks) in 1915. He was subsequently ennobled as Baron Wargrave and sat in the House of Lords.

He passed away in 1936. Being childless when he died he was both the first and last Baron Wargrave. [2]

One of the most active organizers of Joseph Chamberlain's tariff reform movement, being from 1904 to 1912 chairman of the Tariff Reform League organization department. Died unmarried July 17, 1936, at Shiplake Court, Henley-on-Thames, when the title became extinct. Brother of the next. (Clifton Coll.
