OBITUARY Mrs. Samuel Sangster passed away on July 24 at her home in Evergreen Township at the age of 80 years. Funeral services were held at the Novesta Baptist Church on Friday afternoon, Rev. Willerton officiating, and interment was made in the Novesta cemetery.
Jessie Gordon was born in Scotland on June 5, 1843. In 1862, she was united in marriage with Samuel Sangster and 12 years later they left Scotland to make their home in Canada. They moved to Sanilac county, Michigan, in 1890, settling in Mooretown. A year later they came to Evergreen township. Mr. Sangster passed away in 1918.
Mrs. Sangster untied with the Presbyterian church in young womanhood. She leaves eight children, Wm. Sangster of Evergreen, James Sangster of Detroit, George Sangster of Evergreen, Alex Sangster of Lapeer, Mrs. Painter of Morenci, Mrs. Alex Hamilton and Mrs. Margaret Hamilton of Evergreen and Thos. Sangster.
