Sunday Morning While Watering His Horse. 20 Year Old Son of H. Gipson
Albert Gipson, ,20 year old son of Mr. and. Mrs. Harrison Gipson, of this place, was drowned in the Ohio River near Carter's landing on Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock.
The young man, who lived with his parents near the place where he was drowned, had taken his horse to the river for water. There were two small boys on the river bank who witnessed the drowning and according to their story they said Gipson's horse be-came, unruly and kept going further out into the water. Gipson became frightened and jumped from the horse but he could not swim and the boys were too small to be of any assist-ance. His body was found that afternoon at 3 o'clock by Mr. Carl Over-ton, in about 25 feet from where he was drowned.
The funeral was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the grave in the Cloverport cemetery. Rev. A. N. Couch conducted the service.
Gipson had been a member of the Stephensport Baptist church for six years. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Noah Gipson.
Burial: Cloverport Cemetery #1, Cloverport, Breckinridge County, Kentucky
