Biography

Rudolph Gipson was born in 1922. He was the son of M Gipson and Trudie Aaron. In the 1930 census Rudolph (age 7) was the single son of M J Gipson in Police Jury Ward 9, Caddo, Louisiana, United States.^[1] In the 1940 census Rudolph (age 19) was the single son of M J Gibson in Caddo, Louisiana.^[2]

Rudolph was drafted into the US Army during World War II. He enlisted on 18 August or 8 September 1943 at Shreveport, Louisiana.^[3] He was transported with Company 3, RS-033-(d)* on the USS General John Pope (AP-110), sailing from San Francisco 14 August 1944 for New Guinea.^[4] He was admitted to hospital with disease in December 1944.^[5] He was discharged from convalescent hospital on 10 September 1945.^[5][6]

Rudolph married Lenoria Mayberry on 31 December 1957 in Jackson, Kansas City, Missouri, United States.^[7][8]

Mr. Gipson died on 28 January 1972.^[6][9] He was buried at Veterans Cemetery, Darien, Fairfield County, Connecticut.^[10]
