Could this Richard be the one who bought Appleton Manor in Groton with a partner John Borcham in 1635? See the discussion in Disputed Marriage Reports for son Richard. The time and location (Groton, Suffolk) work well. I can't tell whether his will sheds light on this (I need to learn how to read the ancient script!).
