Margaret Gilbertson married William Mowat on 13 November 1813 in Olrig, Caithness. The witnesses to the marriage were William Swanson and S Tuller. Margaret's place of residence at the time of her marriage was Castleton.[1]
Barbara Mowat, daughter of William Mowat and Margaret Gilbertson, was born about 1820 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 16 April 1820.[2] Barbara's parents were living at the Strath of Watten at the time of her baptism.[3]
