Research notes

Alexander's parents

From naming pattern it might be assumed that Donald's parents were a William and Elspet.
There's no obvious marriage in the extant OPR for Caithness (Georgeson and name variants) and amongst the baptisms the closest is a William at Kirk (Bower) who had a dtr Elspet baptized May 1756. Very tempting to say that this is Donald's father given the Kirk connection (Donald's son Thomas was at Kirk).
The next Bower baptism is 1760 a William to Will GEORGESON & Jean DOULL of Kirk who then appear to move to Watten by the time daughters Jannet (1762) and Margaret (1764) come along.
An Alexander GEORGESON of Knapperfield features as a witness to some of Donald and Janet (BRUCE)'s children.
This Alexander looks to be the Alexander at Knapperfield who married Isabella DOULL in 1801 and is highly likely to be the son of William and Jean (DOULL) GEORGESON, born at Cogill (Watten) in 1774, and would therefore be Donald's brother.
The above is why Donald is assumed to belong to William and Jean (DOULL) GEORGESON.Henderson-2297
