William "Geddas", son of John Geddas and Jannet Clark, was born about 1807 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 13 September 1807.[1]
In 1851 William was living with his brothers on their 30 acre farm at Toftinghall (or Toftingale) in the parish of Watten. The farm employed four labourers. William's trade was "farm servant".[2]
