John was born in about 1919. He was the son of Robert Watt Geddes and Grace Betsy Ellis.
He married Christina Arbuthnott on 26 April 1939.
They had two children.
He served as a Rifleman with the 7th Bn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Service Number: 14768889.
Tragically he died on 9 April 1945. He was 26 years of age.
