Biography

William married Mary Nevins on 3 January 1855 in Davidson County, Tennessee.^[1]

He worked as a brickmason.^[2][3]

In September 1874, he was tried for the murder of Samuel Haslam, a stonecutter who boarded with the Gatlins.^{[4][5][6][7][8][9]} He was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.^[10]

He died on 4 March 1911 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee^{[11][12][13][14][15]} and was buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee on 5 March 1911.^{[16][17][18][19]}
