Biography
Father Sir Gerard de Furnivall, Lord Hallamshire[1] b. c 1174, d. c 12 Apr 1219
Mother Maud de Lovetot b. c 1178, d. a 23 Jun 1247
Thomas de Furnivall, Lord Hallamshire was born after 1200 at of Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.[2]
He married Bertha de Ferrers, daughter of Sir William de Ferrers, 4th Earl Derby & Earl Ferriers, Earl of Chester, Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, & Lancashire and Agnes of Chester, circa 1221.[3]
They had 2 sons (Sir Gerard; & Sir Thomas) & 2 daughter (Margaret, wife of Hugh de Neville, & of Hugh de Miton; & (unnamed), wife of Sir Roger de Mowbray).[4]
Thomas de Furnivall, Lord Hallamshire died circa 1240 at Damietta, Egypt; Killed by the Saracens.[5]

The current death date (1240) falls between the earlier 5th Crusade (1217–1221) and later 7th Crusade (1248-1254). Frederick's 6th Crusade (1228–1229) didn't get to Egypt. (Or are we saying he was somehow a pilgrim to Jerusalem who accidentally ended up in Damietta; and was there killed by an enemy, between the wars?) I see in the bio we cite a source saying he died *after* 1249, but the profile itself says 1240. Best if we're not self-contradictory within the profile.
Taking a step back, I wonder if perhaps this is related to RJ's comment below that this profile conflates/jumps generations? Maybe there's a garble of which Furnival this is?
