Doreen Margaret Fairbairn (married name White) was born on 4 October 1897 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Elizabeth Pettie (Kyle) Fairbairn and John Fairbairn.^[1]

She married Max White on 21 August 1917 in Geelong.^[2] They had six children.^{[citation needed]}
