AN OLD MAN KILLED.
An inmate of the Old Men's Depot, named Thomas Fairbairn, was run over by a cab on Saturday morning, and sustained fatal injuries.
Fairbairn was crossing the road behind a baker's cart, at the corner of William-street and Bazaar-terrace, and did not notice the approach of a horse and cab, driven by Alexander McIntosh. The cab-driver observed the old man too late to pull up, and the horse and vehicle passed completely over his body. The injured man was conveyed to the Perth-Public Hospital, and admitted for treatment, but he died a few hours later. The deceased who was about about 65 years of age, had been an inmate of the Depot for a considerable time.
