Research notes
Ralph's 2nd wife - Jane or Ellen?
- 1856 Marriage cert. shows wife as Jane Price but the 1861 census shows wife as Ellen, whose death appears to be registered as Ellen Fairbairn in 1875.[9]
- I, Lorna have not checked to see if Jane was also known as Ellen nor for a death between 1856 and 1861, nor, extensively, for a marriage between Ralph and Ellen
Ralph's father - James or John?
- Ralph's marriage cert. to Jane shows his father as John Fairbairn, farmer whereas his 1810 baptism shows his parents as James Fairbairn & Isabel Tait.
