Fact: http://familysearch.org/v1/LifeSketch Robert Fairbairn and his wife Ellen Milne emigrated to America in 1836, first to Detroit and then to Essex County. Both Robert Fairbairn and Ellen Milne were Scottish immigrants. He was an educated man who for many years was Justice of the Peace at old Sandwich Town now part of Windsor. Hence he earned the title Squire Fairbairn. While he married three times, his children were all born to his first wife Ellen Milne.
