Robert was born in 1896, the son of Robert Fairbairn and Agnes Morgan.[1]
He was killed in action on the western front in Belgium on 4th Oct 1917, during the First World War, and was buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders (West-Vlaanderen), Belgium.[2][3][4][5]
His death was registered in New Zealand in 1918.[6]
