George Eden is Notable.

George was born in 1784. He is the son of William Eden and Eleanor Elliot.

From November 1806 until March 1810 he was vendue master (slave auctioneer) of Demerara & Essequibo. Left the post upon the death of his brother William Frederick Eden, to succeed him as as Member of Parliament. [1]

He served as Governor-General of India, 1836–1842.

He died in 1849 leaving no male heir so his title is extinct.
