Biography
LeRoy was nine years old when he died of third degree burns. He had been cleaning his bicycle with gasoline which got on his clothes. His clothes ignited after he started a trash fire. His mother and brother LaVerle suffered burn injuries when they attempted to put out the fire.
He was a fourth grade student in Elizabeth, Illinois, grade school. His family lived on a farm near Elizabeth. He was one of six children of John and Lydia Theviot Ebert. He was buried in Elizabeth Cemetery. [1]
