Note: DUNCANSON-BURGESS Pearls and Orange Blossom At St. Andrew's Church, Launceston, a, wedding was celebrated recently be tween Gladys Maria Rebecca, only daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. A C. Burgess, of Westbury. and Norman Desmond, only son of Mrs. D. E. Burke, of Railton, and the late Mr. R. W. Duncanson, of Ulverstone. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a white satin frock, with a flared basque and trained skirt, the front being trimmed with pearls and orange blossom. Her embroidered tulle veil (loaned by Mrs. T. Excell, of Victoria) was worn capette fashion, and held by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower of pink carnations, white hyacinths, and fern. The bridegroom's sister, Miss Phyllis Duncanson, was bridesmaid. She wore a blue frock of emery crepe, which had puff sleeves and a panelled skirt. Pink flowers were worn around her head, and she carried a posy of pink carnations, blue hyacinths, and fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Allen. As the party left the church two decorated satin horseshoes were hung on tile bride's arm by Mrs. T. E. Parkinson and Miss Nancy Parkinson. The reception was held at the Rose Cafe, the three-tiered wedding cake was made by the bride's brother, Mr. George Burgess. The bride's travelling suit was coronation blue. Mr. and Mrs. Duncanson's home will be at Avoca.^[5][6]
