Biography

John was born about 1750 (date guesstimated) and as he was listed first in the will of William Dudgeon, John may have been the eldest son of William. He appears to have died after 1800.

Marriage

It is indicated on Family Search FamilyTree profile of John Dudgeon^[1] that he married a Mary Hunt Sublett in Jun 1782 in Charlotte County, Virginia. Mary is listed in her profile on FamilySearch^[2] as the daughter of William (Soblet) Sublett (abt.1723-abt.1780) and Susannah (Allen) Sublett (1732-1803).
However, at this time, I am not finding any sources to support either the marriage or her parent's information. According to the information on the WikiTree profile of William (Soblet) Sublett, his will did not give the names of his individual children. BJS

Residence

John appears in Charlotte County, Virginia in 1782.^[3]

John most likely moved with his siblings by 1800 to Lincoln County, Kentucky.^[4][5]
