The marriage record for Alexander's son Alfred Dubois names Alfred's parents as Alexander Dubois and Sarah.[1]

Alexander Du Bois married Mary Emily Jaclyn, who was born in New Milford, Connecticut. In 1840 they lived in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.[2] In 1860 they were farming in Agawam, Hampden County, Massachusetts, United States.[3] In 1865 he was in Springfield, Ward 02, Hampden County, Massachusetts.[4]

Alexander Du Bois married Annie. They lived in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States.[5]

Alexander died from peritonitis at age 84 on 9 December 1887, at 93 Acushnet Ave. in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The death records describe him as colored, and indicate that he was born in the Bahamas; his father was James, who was born in New York; and his mother's name was unknown, but she was born at Long Cay (in the Bahamas). He was recorded as married at the time of his death. New Bedford record created in 1903 indicates that he was buried in New Haven, but a FindAGrave memorial (without gravestone image) indicates that he was buried in New Bedford.[6][7][8] [9]
