Birth
No definitive parish record of Marion's baptism has been identified. Based on the year of her daughter Jannet's baptism (1701) it is estimated that Marion was born about 1677. No evidence of baptisms of other family has been established so it is assumed that Jannet is her first (and only) child. There are baptisms in Dirleton where the father is named as John but unfortunately no mother's name is recorded. The most recent baptism of this Dirleton father John is some 10 years prior to Jannet's, insufficient evidence to conclude these are children of Marion.
