Biography

William Dekle was born in Tokyo, Japan and immigrated to the United States in 1972. He lived with his mother and father in Register (formerly Dekleville, Georgia in Bulloch County. Rhys attended Statesboro High School but graduated from Philips Academy Andover in Andover, Massachussetts in 1985. He graduated from Yale Univeristy in 1989 with a BA in Anthropology. After graduation Rhys hiked the Appalachian Trail between Springer Mountain, GA and Delaware Water Gap, NJ over 4 months. He lived in Japan for seven years including 2 years on Okinoshima, Shimane Prefecture but most of those years in Tokyo. He moved back to the US in 1997 after marrying and attended the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School where he graduated with an MBA in Finance in 1999. He worked at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company living in Stamford, CT. Later he moved to Portland with his wife and daughter living in West Linn, OR and working for Hollywood Entertainment. Later he moved to Seattle living in Redmond, WA working for Xbox part of Microsoft for 11 years. He then left to start his own consulting & acquisition advisory business in the game industry called Strategic Alternatives.
