Biography
William DeFoe died young.
The son of William DeFoe and Sarah (Richmond) DeFoe, William was born in Salt River Township, Missouri[citation needed] in 1851. The family moved into and out of Tennessee, and by 1860, William lived with his family District 2 of Lauderdale County, Alabama, having just moved from Tennessee.[1] The family returned to Tennessee, taking up residence in Lawrence County. William drowned in Shoal Creek there at the age of nine and is buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Iron City, Tennessee.[2]
