I am a descendant of James and Jane Corbett who came to Saint John, Canada in1820's. They had 5 children who had very interesting families. My father's ancestors are Yankee and Southern Irish. My mother's are English and Scotch-Irish. One branch of the Corbett family spawned generations of journalists and publishers of noted American newspapers. Most of the others lived as farmers in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada. I also have Armstrong ancestors who I think may be related to the Reiver Armstrongs who inhabited the borders of England and Scotland.

Hello JoAnne,

Welcome to Wikitree. I saw your comment on the New Netherlands Settlers (NNS) Project, wanting to join the trusted list, and mentioning not "touching the biography." You were on the NNS project page when you made the trusted list request, which doesn't have a biography. Did you mean instead to request access to a specific person's profile that has NNS as a manager? You should go to that person's profile, click "Privacy" and then make the trusted list request there. Projects don't normally add individuals to the trusted list for the project page itself.

Cheers

Barry

This is the first time that I have jumped into doing anything with Wikitree. Still learning. Trying to give sources to all my additions. Like that stipulation in WikiTree.

That's great JoAnne, I'm so glad that you have come to join us here! I also like the sources stipulation too, it helps to keep our trees as accurate as possible.

Never to shy to ask any questions, we're here to help. There is loads of things to do and learn here, I've been on WikiTree for years and still learn something all the time.

Have fun and see you around!

Kindest regards, Pam

Welcome, JoAnne!

Thank you for upgrading! 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point.

Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing, Pam
