Effie Cherer Williams (Dawe) Brookes South African 1820 Settler and Descendants

Effie Cherer Williams was born in Uitenhage on 13 July 1891.^[1] She was the daughter of William Nicholas Dawe and Catherine Mary Ann Smith. ^[2].^[3]

She is mentioned as living on her father's Death Notice in 1900.^[3]

Ethel married Vladimire Alexander de Markewitch in Johannesburg on 22 August 1917. ^[4] Vladimir died on 4 August 1925. The couple had two children: Catherine Effrosini and Dora Alexandre, who were both minors. ^[5]

She remarried at age 37, on 2 April 1932, to Cyril Percy Brooks. Their denomination was listed at Catholic. They were both residents of Turfontein at the time. M. Rennie and D. King were witnesses.^[6]

Effie Brooks died on 10 October 1964 in The Government Hospital in Hillcrest, Durban.^[7]
