Biography

Lucy was born in Fownhope, Herefordshire in the fourth quarter of 1850. She was baptised there on 15th December 1850. ^[1] She is the daughter of William Daw and Emma Wheatstone.^[2]

She is missing from the 1851 Census but in 1861 she was 10 years old and living with her parents and siblings Julia, Helen, William, Charles and Emily in Fownhope, Herefordshire where her father was the proprietor of the Green Man Inn. ^[3]

In 1871, Lucy was 19 years old and living with her widowed mother Emma and siblings Helen (Ellen, Charles, Henry, Jane and Grace in Fownhope Herefordshire. ^[4]

In the second quarter of 1880 Lucy married John McCleary in Swansea, Glamorganshire. ^[5]

In 1881 Lucy was estimated to be 30 years old. She and John (a travelling draper) were boarders at 18 Beach Street, Swansea in the home of Mary McCutcheon. ^[6]

Lucy died in December 1883 and was interred on 29th December at St Peter at Cockett, Swansea. ^[9]
