Susan was born about 1811. She passed away about 1891.

Susan's parents:

Robert Dure married Sarah Podger 9th March 1810 by Banns. Witnesses Mary meaby/John Franklin. Langport, Somerset All Saints Bishop's Transcripts.

Their marriage place ties in with Susan's birth place in Census 1861 onwards. Her children's names also make the link to her parents - Robert Henry and Sarah Agnes.

Marriage certificate states she is the daughter of Robert Daw (Dawer or Dure), a labourer. Nicholas and Susan are both servants at " Goodamoor".

1841 Census Plympton Sarah is aged 25, with her husband Nicholas 26. Both are servants of the Treby family at "Goodamoor".

1851 Census Plympton St Mary, Susan is Head, aged 37. Servants wife. Born Brixton. Their daughter Sarah is 9 and son Stephen is 5. Her husband Nicholas is recorded elsewhere Torquay Newton Abbott, a servant of Arthur Kelly(?), Magistrate. Nicholas is 38.

1861 Census Plympton St Mary Sparkwell, Susan is 48, born Devon, a gardeners wife. Daughter Sarah 19, is single, a servant and Stephen is 15 an Agric Lab. Her husband Nicholas is again in a separate Census and working as a groom & Gardener for the Treby family at "Frogg" he is 48.

1881 Census Plympton St Andrew. Susan is a widow (annuitant) aged 72 and born Langport Somerset. Her address is Hastings St and she is residing with her son Robert Henry Hammett 44 a Railway Guard, his wife Elizabeth and their niece Elizabeth Hammett 16 ( daughter of Stephen Hammett born Sparkwell) who is a servant.

1891 Census Susan is still, with her son at Hastings St. Recorded as aged 70 and born Somersetshire. Son Robert is still a Railway Guard aged 50. Wife Elizabeth. A niece Charlotte is 13 and a nephew Henry Perry is 25. ( Henry later marries Charlotte).

Susan died at 3 Hastings St ( her sons address) and was buried 18th December 1891 aged 79.

note inconsistencies in Census records which differ greatly in birth place and age of Susan.
