Mary Daw was baptised on 24th August 1738 in Linkinhorne, Cornwall, her parents named as Thomas & Bridgett Daw[1]. (Note: The naming of her own youngest daughter as Bridget, and Bridget's birth year of 1779, support the choice of this baptism over two slightly earlier ones from Linkinhorne.)
Marriage: She married Edward Strike in Linkinhorne on 22nd December 1760 [2]. He was a husbandman, she a spinster; both were "of this parish" and made their mark; witnesses Thos. Nordon & Jeremiah Pears. Banns had been read on 30th September, 7th October and 14th October [3].
Children: The following baptisms took place in Linkinhorne (name, baptism date, parents as named):
Bridget, 3 March 1779, "Edward Stride & Mary his wife" [11][12]
Research Notes
A possible death in childbirth - "Mary Strike & John her infant buried" on 2 Feb 1782 in Linkinhorne [13]. (Note: There is no baptism record for John, so the father's name is not available for confirmation or rejection of this hypothesis.)
There are three other Mary Strike burials in Linkinhorne within a reasonable lifespan:
