Biography

Ireland Native
William Davison KBE FSA JP was born in Ireland.

William Davison was a Barrister in the Inner Temple, London. From 1913 to 1919 he was Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington, in London.

First Marriage

Sir William Henry Davison was the son of Richard Davison of Beechfield, Ballymena, co.Antrim by his wife Annie, daughter of John Patrick, J.P., of Dunminning, co.Antrim. Sir William married, firstly, Beatrice Mary Roberts in 1898, to 1929 when the marriage was dissolved. He remarried in 1929 Louisa Mary Constance, daughter of Major Charles F. Marriott, 6th Dragoon Guards.[1]

In 1918 he was awarded a K.B.E., for his wartime work, and in 1945 he was created 1st Baron Broughshane of Kensington, Middlesex [sic].[2]

House of Lords
Baron Broughshane, of Kensington in the County of London, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 19 September 1945 for Sir William Davison, who had earlier represented Kensington South in the House of Commons as a Conservative. The title became extinct on the death of his younger son, the third Baron (who had succeeded his elder brother in 1995), on 24 March 2006. [3]
