It is Noted on the Headstone of Margaretta that she was born in Paihia, Far Noth New Zealand, when in fact Paihia is located in the Bay of Island which definitely cannot be classed as Far North being that its is a good 100 miles away.He father arrived from Britain at Paihia, which was the First Port of Call for ships to NZ - he was posted to the Waimate North Mission in 1824'In my opinion the information on the Headstone is wrong as was often the case.

please note : in the online B.D.M.s for this family, their mother's name has been consistantly poorly transcribed. Birth entry for Mary reads "Mary Doris Eliza" mother "Marella Emily" for Henry his mother is recorded as "Margaretta Elinor Marella" for Richard his mother is recorded as "Margaretta Eleanor Manelle".

When she died in 1883 aged 55, her name is correctly given as "Margaretta Eleanor Marcella Davis"
