Frederick was the sixth and last child of Mary and Joseph. He was born in Swanport, South Australia.
At the time of his marriage in 1929 to Edith Kathleen Whelan, Frederick was registered as a carpenter living in Murray Bridge.
In 1930 their daughter, Barbara Dawn was born, but she died the next year, aged thirteen months.
No death reference can be found for Edith.
Fred’s second wife (no marriage date available) was Violet Elizabeth Hill-Harrison.
Violet and Fred had a son, Bruce Frederick Davies, who was born at Victor Harbor on 18 November 1937.
Many years later, Bruce remembers that, as a child, he was taken to Murray Bridge to visit his father’s families. Often they would visit the Murray Bridge Cemetery to put flowers on Barbara Dawn’s grave. Bruce was led to believe that Barbara was his mother’s child.
His mother, Violet, died in 1957, and two years later, Fred married Daisy Myrtle Bates, who died in 1971.
Fred went to live at Woodside, where he died in 1978, only a few months after his brother, Edwin.
