Biography
Wilbur, known as Elgin, was born in 1898. He was the son of William Damm and Catherine Feick.[1] He lived with his parents and brother in Grey South, Ontario in 1901.[2] After his father’s death in 1903, Elgin lived with his mother, stepfather and siblings in Grey South, Ontario in 1911.[3]
Like his older brother, Elgin emigrated to the United States. He was naturalised in 1926.[4] He lived in a boarding house in Niles, Berrien, Michigan in 1930, where he was a chemist in a public school.[5]
Elgin married Wilda Maureen Witter about 1930 in St Joseph, Indiana.[6] They had children. They lived in Westport, Fairfield, Connecticut in 1940.[7] By 1950, they lived in Crescent Judicial Township, Del Norte, California, where Elgin was a science teacher.[8]
Middle name shows as Conrad, or Carlton, but uncertain, so just left as initial.
