He married Anna Juliana Dahmer on 13 December 1859, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.[2]
They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 10 daughters.[3]
He died on 29 November 1910, in Normanby, Grey, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 75,[4] and was buried in Alsfeldt, West Grey, Grey, Ontario, Canada.[5]
