Biography

Henrietta Dack was born on 26th February 1889 at Watson Street, Middlestone Moor, Durham, England.^[1] Her parents were William & Frances Dack.

In 1891, a two year old Henrietta was living at William Street, Middlestone Moor with her parents and five siblings.^[2]

The 1901 census showed Henrietta living on Watson Street, Middlestone Moor. Also in the household were her parents and eight siblings.^[3]

She married John Gibson on 19th October 1907 at Auckland Register Office. John gave his age as 27, a widower, living at High Villiers Street, Spennymoor, while Henrietta was a 19 year old spinster, living at 4 Wood Street, Middlestone Moor.^[4]

By 1911, John & Henrietta lived at Chilton, Ferryhill, Durham, with their two eldest children, Henrietta's mother Frances Dack and her elder brother Robert Edward Dack.^[5]

On the 1921 census, John and Henrietta were living at 12 Dene Terrace, Chilton, Ferryhill, where John was a coal hewer, working at Chilton Colliery. Also in the household were their six children; Ellen, William, George, John, Alfred and Robert Edward.^[6]

The 1939 Register recorded John and Henrietta living at 7 Wordsworth Road, Chilton, where John was a coal miner and ARP Warden. Also living in the household was their youngest daughter Frances.^[7]

Henrietta died on 17th April 1978 at the General Hospital, Stockton on Tees.^[8][9]
