Elizabeth was baptised on 18 April 1824 in Exeter, Devon, England. She was the daughter of Samuel Periam Curtis and Elizabeth Clark (Sherry) Curtis.[1]

When Elizabeth was 23 she married Andrew Forrest on 13 February 1848 in Exeter, Devon, England. The couple had 6 children: Emma Abigail Forrest, Frederick William Forrest, Andrew James Forrest, Frances Hannah Forrest, Charles John Forrest and Henry James Forrest.[2]
