The baby was born in 1896 and was the child of Francis Crosbie and Jeannette Fisher.
The following is from the Friends of Johannesburg Cemeteries “ A terrible tragedy happened on Christmas Day 1896 in Germiston, Transvaal, South Africa. On the 25th December 1896 the Crosbie family were picnicking at the “Primrose Dam” and the dam wall collapsed. 6 of their children were accidently drowned. The children who died were: Adelaide Jane aged 16 years (1880-1896), Frances Ellen aged 11 years (1885-1896), Kate Anne aged 7 years (1889-1896), Albert aged 5 years (1891-1896), Francis aged 3 years (1893-1896), and Baby aged 2 months. (1896-1896) They are all buried in the Primrose Cemetery in Germiston. Just a short 8 years later, on the 13th January 1904 their Mother Janet Crosbie dies. She is also buried in the Primrose Cemetery, Germiston. “
