Biography
Martha Christina Crosbie was born in 1843 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England to Robert Cochrane Crosbie and Eliza (Austin) Crosbie. Her birth was registered in Liverpool in the first quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Austin.[1]
Martha Christina Crosbie, daughter of Robert Cochrane Crosbie & Eliza, was christened on 19 Mar 1843 at St Jude's in West Derby, Liverpool.[2]
In 1851 Martha Christina Crobie [Crosbie] (age 8, Scholar) lived at 4 Windermere Terrace in Toxteth Park, Liverpool with her father Robert Cochane (48, General Merchant), mother Eliza (43), and four siblings: Henrietta (10, Scholar), Howard Augustus (6), Clara (5), and Rosalind (2), as well as three servants: Mary Griffits (22, Domestic Servant), Jane Williams (25, Domestic Servant), and Mary Gibson (26, Domestic Servant).[3]
In 1861 Martha Crosbie (age 18, Scholar) lived at a lady's boarding school at 21 Gloucester Gardens in Paddington, Middlesex.[4]
Martha's parents both passed away in 1870.
In 1871 Martha Crosbie (age 27, Annuitant) lived at Windermere Terrace in Toxteth Park with her three sisters: Henrietta (28, Annuitant), Clara (23, Annuitant), and Rosa (22, Annuitant), as well as two servants: Anna Thompson (28, Cook) and Elizabeth Dickson (21, Housemaid).[5]

In 1891 Martha C Cristie [Crosbie] (age 30 [~48], Living On Her Means) lived at 40 Village Road in Oxton, Cheshire with her sister Henrietta (42 [~50], Living On Her Means), visitor Cecilia Gilbert (32, Governess School), and two servants: Elizabeth Burnall (26, Cook) and Martha I Burnall (24, Housemaid).[6]

In 1911 Martha Christine Crosbie (age 51 [~68], Private Means) lived at Kingswood in Chelston, Torquay, Devon with her sister Henrietta (54 [~70], Private Means) and two servants: Bessy Barnes (42, Cook) and Olive Clarke (21, House Parlour Maid).[7]
Martha C Crosbie passed away on 15 Nov 1926, aged 83 years. Her death was registered in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in the last quarter of the year.[8]
"CROSBIE Martha Christina of 19 Lansdown-place Cheltenham spinster died 15 November 1926 Probate Gloucester 4 January [1927] to the reverend Edmund Grendon Phipps Eyre clerk. Effects £4918 11s. 9d."[9]
