Biography

George Craufurd was born about 1709, possibly in Ayrshire, Scotland.^[1][2] He was baptized in Edinburgh, Scotland.^[3]

He was the second son of Jane Crauford of Auchinames and Crosbie, and her husband Patrick Craufurd of Edinburgh, and later of Drumsoy.^[1] He was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the 53rd regiment.^[1][2] George married Anne Randal, daughter of Edward Randal, Esq., of Salisbury, England.^[1] They had two known children.^[1]

Lieutenant-Colonel George Craufurd passed away about 1758.^[1][2]
